THE FAMILY

Tumultuous change creating unconscionable upheaval, is eradicating our "American Dream" as we knew it, believed in it, applied ourselves to it. Today, "renegades," the officials we have employed to oversee and safeguard our interests, our future, are being exposed for their dereliction and corruption. Realizing they cannot continue their deception much longer, they now contrive methods to temporarily placate us. It has become a visible and reprehensible game. What else can they do? They won’t -- or have become too embedded in the process to change their spots. They are entangled in a web of deception, interminably tethered to the "Chip."

Instantly concocted palliatives, created and administered unabashedly, are presented as being a sure guarantee for a rewarding transition to heaven. It’s no more than an underhanded way to subdue our gathering outcry. The growing revulsion against incessantly repeated, repugnant words -- transition -- adaptation -- retraining, is creating a cancerous hell-hole between "We The People" and those we hired, who continue to shamelessly defend "a government run amuck." America’s originality is supposed to be imbedded in the sacrosanct credo ... "We The People." If that formula is no longer an accepted truism, we the people are really doomed to decline.

Unfortunately, the louder we protest, the more we try to hold on to our role as bosses, the more brazen and openly displayed is the self protective unity of our elected. Correction, what we are justly trying to accomplish, is deftly avoided and artfully sidestepped by the opponents we unwittingly created. Their unrelenting adherence to the "discipline of power" remains doggedly focused on how to maintain control through deception.

No question, change is a constant factor to deal with -- humanity always had to and managed. Now, the difference is the maddening pace of change, and its clear capability for destructiveness. The ability for social control surpasses any previously experienced by man. To have the tool enabling hellish disruption of the masses, is "Manna" for those with the power to wield it. Those who control the "Chip" ... set the rules.

We have good reason to resist the experts’ spread-sheets and their claims that today’s turmoil is temporary ... an evolutionary aberration. They declare it’s a bridge to a better future. For who? Who will wind up pushing hamburger? How many?

There is no mystery to present society’s gathering revolt. This time, as never before, a generation better educated, more informed, sees no reward for sacrifice asked. They look at their parents, realize they have to work harder for less, and their future doesn’t look any better. The moral fiber of America’s greatness, "the family," has almost been destroyed. It wasn’t their doing!

The cat is almost out of the bag. Ulterior motives, not yet fully understood, have nevertheless become perceptible. Those in power know it, and the rush is on to stuff the animal back into the bag. It won’t succeed. Too many already feel the pain. Too many will eventually sort it out. Will it be too late to halt our downslide toward emulating third world societies?

Promises of a better future through willing sacrifice and rewarding patience is becoming unsaleable snake-oil. Those times of innocence are gone.

A generation back in time, during the "second world war," families were managing to stay intact. They did everything to make it possible because it was important, it was society’s accepted norm. A close-knit family could support and shoulder burdens that would overwhelm a single individual.

Industry, still not fully mobile, unionism growing in strength, granted a short lived reward for achievement. The future held promise that it would only be better. Everyone had a feeling there were unconstrained chances for improvement. So it seemed.

The war came to an end. The new era was here in full bloom. There was a solid "expanding" middle-class working together for their future and the future of America.

Disposable income, once only a dream for the masses, was now a reality and the country prospered as a result.

Portability, freed industries’ bonds more than ever. Moving a company became more a matter of economics than logistics. Families followed, and so began the phenomena of "Power’s" capabilities to create mass social dislocation ... with ease. The family became fragile and the future of a traditional family was becoming bleak. It was the beginning of the end. Was this the people’s fault?

The good life had been tasted. The carrot that led the way to a better future was irresistible. Once again, the wagon train was moving a population westward. This new breed of adventurers were willing to embark on a believable journey for improvement. A tragic step away from the extended family was completed.

If industry was ever apprehensive about a following work force, they quickly understood the power they had and how to wield it.

Outwardly, at the time, the upheaval seemed to be more rewarding than detrimental. This newly achieved illusion of prosperity overshadowed reality.

Consumerism went rampant. Debt, the only way to keep it going, was foisted on this new class of society, and accepted as a normal way of life. What followed, wasn’t too long in coming. The concept of a single provider family became impossible to maintain. Having come to this dilemma, a new inescapable format emerged. By necessity, "mother" was forced to relinquish her role and become a required second wage earner.

The turn-key family was born. Children, unprepared, had to fend for themselves. They had to assume adult responsibilities. It took away the normal and most essential childhood transitional period ... called growing up. It never worked. "Family" began to look like nothing before. No one knew how to cope or repair the damage.

The only way to rebuild the family -- and it must be rebuilt, is to rebuild an economy that once again makes the traditional family possible.

No crafty schemes will ever replace "Family" as we knew it. Look back at the past decade. Think of all the schemes for repairs that have been under discussion.

While we are now struggling with the process of repairing damaged families, haphazardly inventing ways to cope, readjust, and possibly save the family ... still greater destruction looms on the horizon.

Seemingly without warning -- first because of inevitable split-ups, then simply by desire -- the single parent family unmistakably emerged and became a fact of this newly formulated society. Any resemblance to the historic notion of family "was gone."

In less than fifty years, centuries of western custom and stability disappeared. Who would have believed that in a society as ours, there was a "Power" capable of initiating such destructive change? Who would believe it would continue and keep on going?

The only way to further diminish the meaning of "Family" is to have a surrogate bear the child, and that is being done. Will this evolve to a test tube generation (under way)? Then what?

If we are not going to revolt and reinstall the traditional family to the prominence it must have ... "we are lost."
