GETTING THROUGH THE FILTERS

Separating us from the morality of presumed even handed humane justice, inherited from our past, is a minefield of falsifications. Every presentation depicting detailed planning for our continued prosperity, is filtered to pacify. Media filters what it reports to us. It’s their way of designing a story to have the utmost market penetration. Though they are constantly caught lying by omission, that way of reporting is set in concrete. It won’t stop.

The federal government filters their reports to the media. Watch a White House news conference. Reporters try their best to get around the run-around they are involved in. Having no more than filtered information, a pressing deadline to meet, they “develop” a story with impact. Is the story accurate? Does it have any value other than meeting a deadline? How can it? When the media is brought to task ... they claim they are being used and don’t know how to avoid it.

Branches within our government filter reports to one another. They resemble a “football team In a huddle” more than an astute body responsible for our destiny. Before each contact they group to learn the secret play ... then take their positions for the attack. In reality they are just participating in a game of “political sport.” It’s a game that only allows us to be spectators. When was the decree of Federal Government altered to permit them to change our banner ... “We The People” to “You The Spectator”?

Industrial Giants engage in their share of filtering. Their reporting to government, union leadership, media and all of them in turn to us, is filtered beyond recognition. It must be or so many Americans would not be up in arms because of it. “We The People” having been denied the truth are reeling under the effect its absence has had on us.

“Power on high” certainly filters and refilters all information ... all the time. The silence resounding from every secret meeting speaks volumes. Secret BB meetings, secret TR meetings, secret government meetings, secret lobbyist meetings, secret agendas, are all around us blocking our view of the future. Are they legal and above board? Every one involved is surely trying to make it appear so.

No matter how scintillating the artful-dodgers in government attempt to make their reporting appear, “society is tuning them out by the droves.” If this keeps up they will be elected to office by just a fraction of the population. Who knows? It might be exactly what they’re aiming for. If the electorate diminishes any more, government will no longer represent “We The People.” Rather than recognizing our growing contempt, they blame us for abandonment. Positioned between the Devil and the deep blue sea, we feebly search for corrective solutions.

Electronic journalism, locked in a war like ratings environment, has not produced beneficial results for us. The prime product reaching our eyes and ears is tabloid sensationalism. Just recently Clinton and O.J. clashed in a moment of truth. Clinton was beginning his address to the people on the State Of The Union, and at that very same

moment O.J. was about to receive his verdict. One might imagine under normal circumstances, what is happening to America would take precedence. Not so! Both events were simultaneously juggled using split screen television. I think O.J. won out. There must be a extensive amount of people no longer interested in listening to government’s twisted language. Media knew what ratings O.J. would create. They knew what they were doing.

Journalists report on complicated economic happenings without having a smidgen of formal training relating to the subject ... and it shows. With an implanted smile and strange voice cadence, not in the least connected to the subject matter, they falter over a queued script, report horrendous disasters, and the smile never leaves their faces. All in a days work I guess. Certainly they have no idea how bizarre their performance appeared to the viewer.

TV talk shows keep showcasing the same pundits with repetitious never changing attitudes. Its become a formalized method of tv showmanship. News has become more focused on entertainment than responsible reporting. Intelligent reporting and debating are sacrificed for ratings. Electronic news is developed and formatted in a regimented atmosphere far removed from the society their hustling. It becomes another filter ... an extremely harmful one. Tv news and talk shows -- the prime source of information in this electronic world ... have become the worst source.

Because of the extent to which electronic media enters our lives -- because that’s the best source of power’s lecturing to us -- because the tube parades every possible spin artist before us ... “it has the power.” Who controls the

airwaves? Power! - Power! - Power! Who can filter information deemed to be inappropriate for us, information vital to us? Power! - Power! - Power!

The news now reduced to “show time,” finally caused those delivering the trash (feeling public pressure and disgust) to publicly scrutinize themselves. What caused it? Was it a rating war, feedback from consumers, or could they have actually realized they went too far? Whatever ... don’t expect a return to honesty. Expect a trivially modified format they believe will quash our rebellious attitude.

In our quest to recapture our future, our America, (a country we never imagined could be diverted to such a terrible future) we have got to get past the filters. The greatness of America, the dreams of its people, didn’t just fall apart in the past twenty years or so ... they were cannibalized. Pretty soon, the reality that there was once a time when father alone could support the family, mother could devote herself to nurturing the family, children had two biological parents ... will become historians mysteries. It’s already underway. Another generation or so, and all credible reference to a friendlier more civil time will be gone.

The single parent population grows, gays demand equal marriage rights, the necessity for two parents working to support the traditional family is gaining ground. What do our leaders say about this “power promoted deviation”? Basically, it computes to “keep it going.” Hawaii makes same sex marriages legal, our president promotes the rights of gays in the military but says don’t tell, the solution to a demolished education system is put a computer on every

child’s desk, rental agents are prone to let an assemblage of significant others share an apartment. Get the message? Some future.

There can be no disputing what is happening to us. A dream in disarray fading into obscurity, never to be addressed or possibly rescued ... only exacerbated by our most important source of information, “media.” They have been altered by the power of money to becoming the most disruptive of filters. They are obstructionists extraordinaire.

Our elected officials snugly settled into their altered concepts of duty, keep on behaving like elected rulers. Other than the right to vote (and that’s become a dubious act), we have been cut off from meaningful participation in the corporation we the people developed and are the major stockholders of ... The United States Of America.

Our elected employees invent ... and journalists sensationalize. What can we count on? How can we manage to participate with the some advantage? Both parties, D’s or R’s, load us down with opposing illusions that reach monumental extremes in misrepresentation. Even the Wall Street Journal has to step into the fray and print something akin to logic ... eluding to the fact they don’t know what they are talking about. Is that a problem for our elected miscreants? Don’t be silly, they know exactly what they’re doing. If we get a glimpse of an independent whose figures do make sense and seem to add up, the system will inundate him.

The electronic media together with the carefully selected personalities appearing on it, have become possessed with an assumed duty to turn night into day. The audience that used to believe is rapidly shrinking. More and more are becoming wise to politics game of “three card monte.”

Assuming there is a way to work through the filters of government and media, the next to confront would be corporate, an awesome barrier to a higher power. This filter to ultimate knowledge holds us in complete contempt. They know how to crush us at will -- one obvious example is downsizing; “intended job elimination because of planned industrial elimination.” As power postures for its place in the “New World Order” ... we are being put in our place. Just the other night I heard on TV that McDonald’s was about to hire 30,000 welfare recipients. This would get them off the “public rolls” onto the “burger rolls.” I guess they saw it as their public relations coup for the day? The media thought it was great. Some future?

Job retraining has become the non-stop rhetoric of power. Somehow it’s supposed to be accepted as a reasonable goal oriented path in the midst of chaos. We the people cry foul. It’s obvious that even the McDonald’s level of employment is becoming overcrowded. Besides, who can disagree, that is not supposed to be our future? We want the jobs stolen from us to be returned. By now you must realize what we want is of no consequence. Only the agenda of power will move forward ... relentlessly.

Without slacking off for a moment, our pompous government employees invent cock-and-bull stories, attempting to convince us they sincerely have our interests at heart. We have spoken to them; created citizen action groups, written letters to the editor, marched on the capitol in vast numbers, even rebelled with outright violence ... all to no avail. We are skillfully kept at bay. They know how to manage that.

We the people, we the consumers, are an absolute necessity for the power structure. This is not like past history when power grew primarily as a result of conquering land and people. Controlling markets is the way of it now. “We” are the market. We the consumer is what the secret silent war is all about. Just as we depend on industry to provide livable wages, industry depends on us to consume. If a corporation fails to profitably sell enough to meet analysts’ expectations, the value of their stock goes down. The upshot is, corporate has found ways to meet analysts’ expectations. Downsizing rather than long term investment fills the bill instantly and very well. If for some reason even downsizing isn’t enough, corporate then goes to war to secure chunks of another arena in the world market. That’s the balance of trade war reported to us daily. That is the reason we will trade with a country that tortures and deprives its citizens, and even award that country favored nation status. Corporate wants it that way. So, our government puts us aside over here and helps put corporate where they shouldn’t be ... over there.

If we can’t work at decent paying jobs that give us the luxury of having sufficient disposable income, it stands to reason, we can only buy essential items. Sooner or later this will make corporate sick. Is it possible to hurry the process and give them pneumonia “right now” without contracting it ourselves? Is this one way of crashing the doors of power? Migrant workers used that tool. A greater coalition using the same tool might effect a greater success.

Listening to a program Perot conducted on tv, the following (paraphrased) caught my attention. “I wanted to be a pearl, looked in the mirror and realized it couldn’t be. I then thought about being the oyster that made the pearl and said that was not possible. Then I realized, I could be the grain of sand that irritated the oyster to make the pearl.”

United consumers, well organized and dedicated, could give corporate a resounding wake up call. We can become the embedded irritant only one prescription can cure: Give America back to us, and attempt to behave like responsible citizens. Corporate may again feel “some restraint” by law and make “some effort” to be a part of humanity.

To kill us, who are a goodly chunk of their market, is not the goal of power. So! why do they do us like they do? Perhaps we give them to much credit. Maybe, simply, they can be stupid, crazed with power, out of control? Maybe?
