Government

"Of The People -- By The People -- For The People." A good idea that seems to have "come and gone." Has the concept always been under attack?

From the days those words were penned and America’s noble experiment began, the concept "was under attack." The notion of freedom preserved by representative government, ensuring and protecting inherent rights for all, was not accepted by all. Economic advantages would have to be forfeited. Slavery would have to end.

We have a panel of judges called the Supreme Court, who spend their lives interpreting our constitution. Was it drafted so loosely or is it being scrutinized for advantageous maneuvering room. For the privileged few, the court’s interpretations work surprisingly well. How often is there a unanimous consensus of opinion from this learned arm of the "Power Tower" ... that truly favors "We The People"?

Maneuvering room for those embraced by the inner circle is artfully endowed. Do you know what it takes to receive that gift? Sure you do ... "generous compensation." For the common folk, "We The People," our government has created a maze. We fought for and believed to have succeeded in obtaining a freedom of information act ... our right to begin with. So! -- how long does it now take to get the information, how much is redacted, and for what purpose. If we ever believed that the common folk were a welcomed constituency and might beneficially "coexist with power" ... that naivete is vanishing. The number of people voting is diminishing more in each election. This indisputably correlates with my premise. We are turning off and tuning out.

The people will learn different ways to obtain their wants ... in spite of government. People always devise stealthy ways to survive under authoritarian rulers. How close are we getting to that expedient? Though we aren’t a nation of people brought up on combating subterfuge with opposing subterfuge ... we are getting close.

As long as we the people believed we had a remote chance of benefiting from the system we believed was ours, glitches in the system were tolerated. We viewed the government as being an administrative body, not an absolute, unrelentless, "controller of state."

In the beginning, we the people were fed tidbits. Some in power, still held to the doctrine that their system’s survivability depended on our continuing believability. Time gained to fine tune and install pending agendas was considered reasonable. Soon enough, "impatient power" redesigned the tidbit game. It advanced to tit for tat.

Bit by bit, any notion that our electorate is equitably administrating the intended morality of our constitution ... has kept eroding. Attending to our agendas, "We The People," has almost ground to a halt. Government, embrazoned by "Power’s" round the clock, corruptive, cajoling back-up, brazenly diminish our voices, our rights. Corporate won the skirmish. They legally transformed themselves into an entity that had more beneficial legal rights than any human ever dreamed of.

People, fed up, are gathering forces as our government retreats to its protective scenario ... "grid lock." From this retreat to collusion, government vacuously parrots our outcry. It becomes an excellent ploy, diverting us from proceeding with our agenda ... reconstruction. Looked at in the proper light, grid lock is not the problem it’s the diversion. Government, in "lock-step with power" ... is the problem. Our view of the Declaration Of Independence, thwarted by our government’s disregard for its passion, is eating away at the heart of America.

Power always had to rely on arduous routs for control. Before the advent of the "Chip," local smoke filled rooms were a most important method of community interplay and feedback. We the people were allowed a modicum of satisfying interaction, and we generally walked away with a feeling of accomplishment. We were well aware of power, but still not totally endangered by it. Now it’s another story. "Power" can instantaneously become globally coordinated and in command. Possessing the tool of the millennia, the "Chip," traditional boundaries no longer exist. The "Chip" -- is the highway to a "New World Order."

As evidenced during the past decade, gains people thought were solidly in place are deftly being altered.

People’s outrage, once dealt with on a far different level, is now being treated as mutiny. Were you to walk the halls housing those you have elected, chances are you would feel like a misfit ... uncomfortably out of place. The financially backed "emissaries of power" will crowd you out. There could be no denying, the influence of "Power" overwhelms the voices of "We The People."

There is no mystery as to why the American voter is increasingly apathetic ... even though it is made to appear as a complicated problem. The voter will no longer tolerate a forced choice between "tweedle-dee and tweedle-dum." People are beginning to understand they are not voting for an honest administrative body, but are being asked to approve an impenetrable hierarchy. It’s become a corrupted system that must be dismantled and restored to original vision.

For years, a festering inferno from within the people -- clearly viewed and understood by government, was not going to be considered serious enough to divert a higher agenda. Were they blind or was their intolerable pursuit of agenda going to keep them on course to the bitter end? Whatever, or whomever instilled such callousness, there seems to be no end in sight.

Democracy as we took it to heart is in shreds, as our government is shamelessly selling it to the rest of the world. If that marketeering ploy is turned on its head, it takes on different meaning. Corporations cloaked in the guise of democracy, selling a free market agenda, are deceptively promoting a concealed agenda. Could it be the cover for a multi-national take over? Could it be the prelude to the "New World Order"?

As our disconnect with our government increases, as our supposedly classless society becomes more class bound than ever imagined, cancerous polarization becomes more deadly than ever. Government, rather than responding to rapidly emerging inequities and an elevated distortion of justice, steadfastly remains bent on using this new design to advantage -- brazenly, without compunction, in most obvious ways.

The Presidency, for all practical purposes, has donned "Robe and Crown." Promise them anything -- gain your subjects’ allegiance -- revel in the power ... as you default on every shred of original purpose. When your subjects lose faith, repeat the process with greater vigor. This is not old-hat authoritarian techniques. It is going on all over the world. It was never again supposed to be the way of America. It can’t continue much longer. There is the smell of uprising in the air. What form it takes will define our future.

Practical social justice is no longer considered to need even the pretense of partnership between us and those we trusted. Today, "Power" in charge of government ... conferences about us. For our good? I think not.

Medical availability for Americans is not a novel thought. Every industrialized country has some sort of universal system in place. Why not in the most powerful nation of all ... America. What is the result for us? We have no preventive care and for far too many, emergency calamities create huge bankrupting costs that we all eventually pay for, even those bereft of proper medical care. Of course it’s wrong. Of course the "heartless

coalition of power" -- medical and insurance lobbyists ... control the process. This lack of responsibility is denied with "double-speak," the jargon of deception. It pits us against each other, confusion reigns, debate wanders ... "Power" is already formulating new confusion.

Rights for women’s self determination are constantly under attack. The debate has long since disappeared from the arena of logic. It is being used for devious political diversion ... "polarization." You bet! As clinics are blown up, doctors gunned down, mobs block and harass those seeking medical attention, our justice system struggles with prosecuting those crimes. What is their problem?

A union’s right to collective bargaining, a legitimate and essential tool of labor, has almost been ground into the dust. No less than the President of our country sponsored its demise. Remember the Air-Traffic Controllers? If corporate ever felt burdened by how to meaningfully negotiate with unions, the signal from the White House opened the flood gates for counter attack. Unions no longer struggle to participate in corporate growth. They are overwhelmed by industry’s crusade to dismantle their past effectiveness. Unions now concentrate on saving jobs.

Welfare, originally a way to help those in need overcome calamity, has deteriorated into a major calamity. Employing one self-serving political tactic after another, a significant segment of our society has become trapped in the maneuverings. A dependent group of loyal subjects was created and is being used to advantage. To date, generations of a failed system have been relegated to the hopelessness of their artificially created society. They have been brutally trashed, but still politically used when appropriate. All I have heard about responsibly repairing welfare, is an abundance of deceitful political double-speak.

Our civil rights are being wantonly rearranged. Politically expedient maneuverings are resulting in the growth of unnecessary polarization. There never seems to be any planning, any foresight ... just politics and cruel social manipulation.

Lobbyists succeed in increasing corporate welfare.

The richest 1% of our society lobbies to get richer.

The importance of being an industrial empire vanishes.

Class separation is growing in leaps and bounds.

A homeless society grows, its significance side-stepped.

We conceal our hungry, as we feed the world’s hungry.

Government spins yarns designed to diminish us.

Drugs, entry level jobs for too many, may become legal.

This short list of mayhem is indicative of our government’s stealthy departure from concepts "We The People" believed to be in place. "Corporate government" has captured our democracy ... what remained of it. The Declaration of Independence, embellished with The Bill of Rights, has been replaced with a "yoke of power." We are now witnessing the "emancipation of greed."

We seem to have reached the pinnacle of unending, unresolvable social conflict, pitting one group against another. Our government shows no sign of returning to a commitment of serving us. How far afield has it gone? Now we can’t even agree on the word illegal, as pertaining to those who enter our country in the dark of night. An era

of nationalistic pride and enrichment called "chauvinism," is crumbling, never having reached full potential. Potential for "We The People" ... that is.

Other than outright insurrection to alter conditions, can instruments of democracy be revived to once again free us? It is still possible to regain our dignity and propel America into another millennia of greatness. Some are trying their best to accomplish just that. Will their numbers grow, or will it all be for nothing? Will "Power" win out in the end? Is "Roller-Ball" our future?
