American English, a language if used properly, provides an abundant variety
of words replete with varied shades of meaning. If the intent is to relay accurate
information there should be no problem. If the intent is to deceive, unfortunately,
neither is that a problem. They, have become masters of misleading
communication. It is a very effective tool when used incessantly. The intentional
perversion of our English has a degenerative effect on all of society. At some point, as
they are working us over to subdue suspicions, fears, and any thought of revolt, they will
learn they have gone too far.
If we are to continue argument and debate with them, and hope to achieve a smidgen of
headway, we must master and confront them with their own balderdash. It has become
repulsive to watch TV talk shows when a caller (a well spoken individual), questions a
public servant and is dumbfounded, unable to fathom the reply intentionally created for
misinformation sake. Though it is driving a fair number of us up the wall, on the whole,
it has been working to their advantage. It must stop. We have to flood the
lines, tell them to speak English or we will switch channels. There is nothing worse
than poor ratings to get the attention of a TV producer ... and quickly. Youll be
targeting their pocket book where it hurts the most.
Perhaps we can forgive doctors, scientists, engineers, and their like for inventing words
we dont understand, but help communication in their respective fields. Normally they
are striving to improve information exchange among themselves. Among ourselves,
citizens in office and citizens who put them there, the one sided practice
indulged in by office holders of distorting a mutual language ... is wrong.
Their invented words, by any stretch of the imagination, are not attempts to help improve
communications let alone foster mutual understanding. It is a repulsive and conspicuous
practice of deception.
Practiced media reporting to us, practiced government reporting to us, practiced reporting
from almost every level of power that is aimed at us is creating a deadly rift between
them and an increasingly disenchanted society. The extremes the practice has reached will
lead to its downfall. The problem is, what comes next? They,
dont seem to be very concerned.
Though enough of us see through the technique and are repulsed, unrelenting application of
this new English is foisted on us daily. The more they master the new language the less
they are able to relate to the discarded one. They have been transformed into accomplished
illusionists. We have reached a stage where any hope of worthwhile dialect between us and
them has become just that ... an illusion.
Two languages, one we bemoan is not taught properly in the schools another distorted
by power, is not a pretty picture. Can there be a connection? Paranoia you think?
Uh - Uh, years of bickering over ways to fix a failing educational system, have
gone by and the system is worse than ever before. We have spoken to the powers that be,
imploring them to repair a system in decline and have failed to reach them. Why? Two
languages maybe?
For us to continue taking part in the farce only plays into their hands. Only if we make
them explain every word ten times over, force English down their throats, will they ever
surrender. How can we do that? When they are standing at the podium, addressing (lets pick
a college student body) the audience, the moment they veer from understandable English,
let the entire audience leave the auditorium. Would that get their attention? You bet.
Would people do that?
As we continue to lose our industrial base and our family supportive jobs inherent in that
base ... we are forced to listen to a recital about a changing world, and how we must
adjust to it. Throughout the performance two code words in particular will keep popping
up. We will be preached to about open markets and free trade, prime examples
of double-talk. When they say open, they actually mean managed by power. When
they say free, they actually mean power regulated. NAFTA, as an example, was a
cynical display of misdirection. What power wanted power got. What the American worker was
told he would get ... could never happen. When enough of us realize the damage to us, the
cover story unravels ... and it is unraveling.
Lets consider this free trade, open market propaganda, thats supposed to
improve our lot. For one thing it flies in the face of corporates unending complaints. For
example -- they are dumping and it isnt fair. So you see, truly free and
open trade drives them crazy. Therefore, when they are hollering the Japanese are
dumping on us, the interpretation is we want protectionism enforced.
Protectionism, free trade, open markets -- take a simple test, which of the three is out
of place in the world of power.
For our good we are told, the more we sell over there the more jobs we will
have over here. That might be true if only our industrial manufacturing base, lock stock
and barrel, wasnt shipped abroad. With so much of our factories and tools over
there, what exactly are we to make and ship over there ... as we used to? If we translate
the words our good, the true meaning, corporate good, comes
through. Viewed in that light the words might better
coincide with their actions.
Reeducation, now thats a real deceptive word. What can be wrong with
that word picture? For starters, our once world class education system is in shambles. Now
we are instructed, if you have a college diploma its of no concern what you carry in
your head. As long as you carry the paper in your hand, good jobs might be
available. For the rest, government proclaims those who have had lesser education
will have to be reeducated, retrained, remodeled for a cyber-world. First they
participate in endless debate on how to restore our educational system to match past
success, and without missing a beat want to retrain those who have prospered from it.
Reeducating or retraining translates to indoctrination and conformity, just another
necessity for agendas of power.
Service economy, another amorphous description of our future. Its just
another code word for a chip dominated society. That is where we are being
led. As we are being led to a world that will further diminish family as we once knew it,
our government professes to be deeply committed to reviving the family. At least they are
admitting to its mounting fragility. Thats something, or is it? Are we, or are we
not, the victims of language abuse?
What they are trying to conceal through the use of language trickery is, the fact that
like it or lump it, power is committed to the sacking of our industrial base. Industries
that have gone, and those programmed to go, will never return. The heart of America is
being torn from us. This pie in the sky service economy replacement (a replacement yet to
be clearly defined), for the moment can only be interpreted as a ploy to contain us.
Their plan moves ahead. Double-talk is doing its job.
As we listen to the preaching of family values from those on high -- one can
only wonder -- how long the sermons can be sustained. They may try to proselytize from
here to kingdom-come, but as family becomes extinct their words will lose all meaning. And
that is happening already. Two simple words, family values, have been
distorted for concealed purposes. As they advance their cause, family values, family
opportunity ... just keeps fading away.
The get government off our backs campaign, started by the people was soon
mimicked by government. That too was strictly a ploy. They pretend to look like they are
on our side, hoping to be less susceptible to the appearance of being directly connected
with powers agendas. Thats what power authorized. So we have been introduced
to another language aberration. The campaign that started with one intention was altered
by government into another direction. As it turned out get government off our
backs, became get the people out of our hair. It worked. Government has
only become more fallacious.
Its no secret, the European Common Market is expected to outstrip
Americas fading industrial competency. Its no secret, Japan is becoming the
dominant player in the Pacific Rim Complex. Its no secret, populations
throughout the world are enjoying economic growth because of our transplanted industries.
Its no secret, China is poised to become a major industrial force. The secret is
why ... and the why is being exposed at an accelerated pace.
As the ferocity of chip manufacturing attains new heights, advancing technology is certain
to unveil new uses for powers applications. Simultaneously, as the
computer literate rise to the level of computer empowered and absorb surfacing technology,
a war against power will begin in earnest. Make no mistake this is cyber-war. It is
presently being engaged in between countries and private citizens. Power must not be
allowed to continue plotting against the world, assisted by distorted legalities ...
they concocted.
As this devious transformation of the American economic base (advertised as an information
based economy) continues, it will eventually be recognized as an information repressed
alteration. Americans are becoming more conscious of that possibility. Those cognizant of
the chips power potential are more alert to hostile possibilities. A single CD (four
and one half inches in diameter and as thin as a credit card), can store the names,
addresses, and
telephone numbers of everyone in the country. By the time you read this, storage on a
better and smaller device is bound to make an appearance. Science is investigating the
possibility of storing information on DNA particles.
Information is not the panacea our practiced orators elude to. When a source of
information is antiseptically doled out by powerful monopolistic providers, it
is no longer information, its Control.
Our out of control government turncoats scramble to outdo each other in the
way they champion their favorite word ... change. Clearly, it is only an
attempt to placate that segment of society they have made a shambles of. They fully
understand the word change is not being accepted as explained.
As fraudulent word games keep us at bay, it provides time for a computer streamlined
language to be implanted in young minds. In time the inlet will be closed and a
substantial segment of society will wind up in dry-dock ... mothballed for
eternity.
